NUSA PENIDA, the unknown

Still unknown to travelers, Nusa Penida is the largest of the 3 adjacent islands in Bali. For nature lovers in search of adventure, Nusa Penida offers exceptional sites, some of which are difficult to access.
Thanks to a direct boat shuttle between Sanur (Bali’s main seaport for the Eastern Islands) and Toyapakeh, Nusa Penida’s main port, the island can be reached in less than fifty minutes. A round trip to dive in the day from Bali is quite possible, you could enjoy the seabed without staying overnight in Nusa Penida.

This island is worth seeing!
Covering an area of approximately 200 km², with a maximum altitude of 524 meters, Nusa Penida offers a contrasting landscape between vertiginous cliffs, sandy beaches on its coasts, palm forests and green or arid plains in its heartland.

Formerly a land of exile, feared and venerated by the Balinese people, the island has remained isolated for a long time, and has only recently been directly connected to Bali.

Since 2010, a 20,057-hectare area around Nusa Penida and neighboring islands of Nusa Ceningan & Nusa Lembongan has been declared a Protected Maritime Zone banning all industrial fishing and regulating recreational activities related to the marine world.

Among world-renowned sites, Manta Point offers divers year-round visibility of the fabulous Manta Ray. Between July and October, it is the moon fish or “mola-mola” that can be observed on the sites of PED, Blue Corner and Crystal Bay.
