What do you need to get started?
PADI Adventure Diver with Navigation dive or another Advanced level certification from any diving association and have completed a CPR first aid course within the last 24 months. Minimum age is 12 years.
How long does it take?
The Rescue Diver course usually lasts 3 to 4 days.
What does it consist of?
The training will prepare you to prevent potential problems and, if necessary, handle emergencies that can occur on a dive trip. During the 4 theory and practice sessions in the water, you will learn rescue techniques underwater and on the surface such as self-rescue, how to help a panicked diver, how to make rescue plans or how to remove the equipment in the water from an unconscious diver and give assisted breathing, among many others.
Where does it take me?
The Rescue Diver level certification is the prerequisite for all PADI professional courses, which begin with the next course, the Dive Master.
